SIMPSON SIGNAL GENERATOR Mod 340

Instrument known as "signal generator", this was an indispensable tool on the technician's workbench.
Used to calibrate coils in antenna stages, RF amplifiers, oscilators and IF in tube radios, later in transistor radios.
It has large calibration scale on a large panel. Variations from 75 kHz to 120 mHz were possible, with further capability of variating the sinal output from a few microvolts to 1 Volt PEP.
It features an audio signal injector to aid in the search of causes of defects in low frequency stages.
Works entirely with tubes, needing to warm up for a few hours, if it were to be totally effective.
Tubes: 6K6, 6J5, 6X5, conditioned in metallic shield casings .

TUBE TESTER - SANWA Mod SEM-20

In the tube radio years, it was virtually impossible to conduct quick and effective maintenance tests without such equipment.
With this type of gear, it was possible to test signal emission, filaments and short-circuits among the elements of an infinity of tube types and a variety of sockets, except for the "elephant paw" type by Philips.
The model shown has a measuring device to adjust a movable scale emission dial.
To accomplish this, the user would select the tube by spinning the knob towards the top or bottom of the chart, until he found the code for the particular tube.
At this point, he would adjust the tester within the parameters indicated on the table, which provided for adjustment of the circuit board tension of the filament, the type of tube, and normally test the tension distribution in the pins.
