This radio was an answer of RCA to the release of Philco, of radio 46-350 " Alligator " in 1946

It possesses 2 antennas, a fixed and another for external use.
The key on/off of this radio is worked when opens up the cover of the dial.

Tubes: 1R5,1U4,1U5,3V4.Often, the filament battery would run out before the main battery was exhausted. This model was a highlight in the beginning of miniaturization of popular receivers. There were no battery compartment components protection considerations given against the curiosity on the part of the owner. |

It works with a double battery (90 and 9 Volts), or 110/220 Volt.Tunes from 550 to 1600 kHz, plus six SW bands, four of them continuous. Tubes: 1L6, two 1U4, 1U5, 3V4, filament of 1,5 volts. To Brazilian technicians though, it was a troublesome set. But not fori ts virtues: In the interior of the country, tube test equipment was scarce and often, a voltmeter with 9 Volt battery was employed, causing good filaments to burn out. |

![]() RÁDIO GENERAL ELECTRIC MOD X-260This set was very popular in the interior of Brazil, in places where electric power was unavailable. The power supply was obtained from an internal rechargeable 2 Volt battery, of the lead-acid type (1.9 Amps). To power it, the set could either be left connected to the AC current or off. The high voltage for the tubes were provided by a synchronous vibrator,along a transformer to raise the tension. Conditioned in a metallic cabinet and a brown bakelite cover. (Some covers were painted to match the color of the cabinet). Tunes to six wave bands: MW, from 550 to 1600 kHz, and SW, on 49, 25, 19 and 16 Meters. Tubes: Three 1LN5, and one each of 1LC6, 1LH4 and 3Q5. |
